alright boys, hopefully one of yous can tell me whats up. it has been around mid 40's for about 5 days here in norther NJ. and today and last night it dropped way down in the low 20's. i plug my truck in every night and i have no problem starting it in the morning. i let it warm up about 10-15 minutes in the morning. well today was no different, and i let it warm up about 15min, and got in it and went to school. that was about 8 in the morning. well today i get outta school at 12:30. and u gotta remember its 20 degrees, well i get in the truck, start it and let it warm up about 5 minutes. i start to leave, no problems, i can hear the ebpv, but thats normal. i get on the road going home, and im doin about 30, then the guy infront of me turns onto another road, and i accelerate to 45 mph, i hit about 2700rpm. then all of a sudden the truck starts bucking and the rpms start to jump, then it just dies. nothing, i hit the gas and it does nothing. i noticed the battery light came on. i coasted to the side of the road, and put it in park and tried to start it. nothing. tach moved, so i dont think its the cps. i waited about 30 seconds, turned the key, waited 10 seconds after wts light went off, then cranked, gave it a little gas and it fired, but didnt run. then i did it again, and it started, but ran really bad, i let off the gas and it stalled. i started it again and it was running, really bad. it sounded and felt like it was only running on one bank, the right bank. i let it warm up for about 5 minutes, put it in gear and drove home. it was fine all the way home. well i am thinking(and hopeing) that it was just the fuel started to gell, and it got in the pump, but it wasnt thick enough to gell all the way. if u guys have any ideas, please let me know. thanks
- Trav
--- edit--- just to let you all know, it only has 95,000 miles on it

Is the check engine light on during any of this? If so, get it scanned even if the light is off now. The PCM will store codes.
Start with your 1st suspects, drain the fuel in to a clean container, glass is best, let it set for a while, look for sediment and/or water. Change the fuel filter if you find anything out of the ordinary in the fuel. HEck change it anyway, 95K on your truck does'nt mean too much, it's 12 tears old.
Get some diesel 911 for the gelled fuel if that's your trouble.
Pull the cap off the filter eliment and see what your fuel condition is like, maybe a good time to replace the filter if you have not done it in a while.
I change mine in the spring and fall, only get about 15,000miles on the truck a year, at most 5000miles during winter.
Cloudy fuel is gelling, black slimy filter and fuel is alaga growth. I gotta run so I cannot answer anymore questions, someone else will jump on this.
I don't remeber reading this in you 1st post:Battery light on is= alternator, batteries or bad connections. Clean all battery connections, starter wires too. If you have a VOM check the big post on the back of the alternator to ground while running, you should see more than 13.2 volts. Have batteries load tested. Some mega-part stores will test them for you They need to be disconnected from each other for this test.
All you guys make me laugh when you say mid 20s is cold....we just had 2 weeks of -22 to -31.....You guys don't know what cold is Don't want to burst your bubble, but diesel has a gel point of 0 degrees...http://www.greentechvt.com/about+contact/gelpoint.htm
I would look at something else....sorry....our winter diesel here is rated to -54....and we came close a few times last year....this year the coldest was -40.
