Man do I feel a bit dumb....

I assumed that all the trucks now had none greaseable joints and bearings now. Had a squeal that started a couple of weeks ago when ever I had it in 4wd. Got around to doing some tests today and narrowed it down to the front right. It will only squeal when the front right hib is locked. It won't do it when just the front left is locked. So I called the dealer to book it in to get the U-joint changed out as the truck is only 3 months old. After I washed it an hour ago and was looking at the U-joint before parking it in the garage I see a grease nipple staring me in the face. Doh!!! Got my gun and greased it up. I'll see if it fixed it next week as I go back on shift for the next week and have all the salt washed off my truck now and don't want to wash it again before putting it away.

Is that the u-joint between the inner and outer axle shafts? If so...very interesting! Hope that is the cure...

That's correct. I'm hoping that's all it is and not the bearing. I'll find out next Monday when I get off work.

I recently got the pictured Quigley/Ford E-350. I didn't find any grease zerks in the drive train nor in the ball joints, but was happy to see them in the tie-rod ends and other steering joints.

I pretty much feeling the same as you--I found all of the fittings for my 2004 and can't find any on my 2005. Does anyone know where (if there are any) they are on the 2005 4x4?

***Update***

Greasing the U-joint didn't help. So I srayed a quick shot of WD40 on the seal where the axle shaft comes out of the axle housing. No more squeal. By how little I used I can't see it being a bearing problem, just a dry rubber seal rubbing on the axle. Drove around for a hour and it never came back. We'll see if this is the end to it......

Just to be safe I'm going to check the fluid level in the diff and see if it is OK and not the cause of the seal going dry. Might just be from not using 4wd enough and washing my undercarraige all the time when I put my truck away in the garage.
