Here's my situation....I will be driving down the road and my truck wil "cut off". It is just like you reach over and turn the switch off but haven't. There is no warning or rhyme or reason. So far I have replaced the distributor, ignition module, fuel relay, fuel filter and relay to the computer(unknown which one). The kicker is this, I can drive the truck for 3 weeks and nothing will happen and then all of sudden it cuts off again. I can wait 5 minutes or 45 minutes and it will crank again. The "check engine" light comes on and off but at no specific time or in relation to the vehicle cutting off.
I am at a total loss here and so are the 2 mechanics I have dealt with. At this point, I am $900 in the hole and no better off than when I started with this problem.
If ANYONE has any ideas or have encountered this problem, please let me know what it took to fix it. I am being led down the road to believe that it is either a bad wire getting hot and causing the vehicle to shut off and when it cools off it starts up again or, the worse case scenario, the computer brain.
Thanks to anyone who may be able to give me some insight to this situation.
I had a fuel relay go bad on 92 it would run for weeks till it that one bump and would shut off. You would get out shut door and it would run took months to figure out. But you replaced that . Sound like a short but I couldn't begin to say where. The guy's here will give you some ideas.

Reason: wrong info
will the engine turn over and just not start...or is it completely dead after it quits? A friend of mine had a bad solder connection in his computer that did things like this......replaced it and no more problems.
I had a 305 once that did it like that and was the coil wire coming loose enough......would crank and crank but not start.
Hate issues like this........harrrd to find.
Good Luck!!!
Sounds a lot like the TFI module but you had that changed for a new one. Have you checked your fuel pressure? 30-45 psi running or 35-45 KOEO. Can you hear the fuel pump(s) run when you turn on the key?
