This morning it was 16ºF. I didn't bother plugging in the block heater last night. Truck started up and died on the first try... no biggie. Fired up immediately on the 2nd try.
Here's the odd thing: the engine wasn't up on the high idle. I tapped the gas pedal a few times to see if it was stuck, but it stayed on low idle. I put it in gear and began driving and at the first light I came to, it was up on the high idle. Sounds like something might have been sticking after all.
So is there a routine lubrication to some part of the IP's external mechanisms that should be done?
Check the Engine temp switch down behind the upper coolant manifold see if the connector issecure, check the FI solenoid wire for power on a cold engine key on. Use a 12v jumper to see if the FI works when powered up..... you will be required to operate the fuel pedal for it to extend.
