Permanent antenna

I would like to install a permanent antenna for my vhf mobile radio. I would i go about running the wiring from where the hood and fender meet (in front of the windshield on the driver side) to the inside of the cab? I have a 2004 F-150 extended cab. Running the coax in between the door jam doesn't look like an option.

There is a lit'l cavity there... I had thought of using that (pssngr side) as a wiring canal myself... but getting out there I had planned on drilling a hole for a liquid-tite strain relief. The hole would have been probably left and above from where the fuse box is sitting.

I assume you're using an NMO type mount? I have a few 3/8"thrd-dia. NMOs I'll probably mount on my roof in the near future....

that's correct...i am using an NMO type bracket and am gonna try and get the rg-58 coax in the side cavity you are talkin bout. It just looks too tight just by looking at it. I guess i can take a second look.

thanks

It may even require the use of an electrician's fish tape...straightened out coat hanger...or if you are a installer or know one... borrow thier dash snake... (mine is about 2'n a half ft. perfect length for such an application)
