confused about taillight

92 F150 Flareside........I called the local dealer and asked him if the Flareside taillight was the same as the Styleside or regular bed truck. He said no and that they had none......then said he had run a list of dealers in the US that did have them and i could come by and get it.
I found one on Ebay and have it on now .....everything is fine.......but i'm still confused about it.
Are they the same taillights?

i don't believe they are, the ones for the stepside is narrower

I have remove a step side to put a reg bed on and never paid attention to it. But I think narrower.
