Higher compression?

I am wondering how the speed density will react to changing to a 10:1 CR? I have a 85 302efi/aod bronco and was wondering if a change in CR,along with some mild porting, and a swap to the "lightning cam" mentioned in here somewhere, will drive my computer over the edge? I dont want to change to much, as my bronc gets phenominal mileage as is, and I just want a little more power.

well with the higher compression you will need to run 92 octane of course. running the cam not sure on specs, you might contact the guys at fordracing they could tell you if the cam will be to much. good luck if you do it though

Higher compression?

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 16-Aug-02 AT 06:45 PM (EST)]Just running the higher cr won't mess up the speed density though?

Higher compression?

It shouldn't. It is my understanding that speed density is mostly affected by changes in vacuum..... i.e. larger cams, etc. Changes in compression, alone, should be "freebies"...... gains in power with no negative side effects on the EEC.
