Not saying 351's are bad, but in my opinion they are over rated. I have walked a few newer broncos with 351's. and i have a 88 with a 302 with just a K&N filter a performance chip and thats it. Oh and a new AOD since i blew the other one. I also have 162K original miles on a non rebuilt or major serviced motor. Now i've been in some broncos with 351's and yah its cool to hit it and getting pushed into the seat but other than its a gas hog from hell. well just wanted to get my two cents in thats all.

I wish I had a solid axle. Have the TTB and I cant stand it, cant really say that it doesnt work because i've gone threw a lot of stuff with it and made it out. But with it comes to strengh and knowing that it wont break as easily rather have a straight axle. Also that way i can actually hold a alignment, my ttb cant hold a front end alignment for more than a week before i start wondering the road again.

I always figured a real bronco has some sort of damage somewhere on it from off roading or going places other vehicles can't. My rear bumper is bent a little bit upward on one side from hitting a ditch a little too hard.
And I just have to say that I love my gas guzzling 351...but we prolly don't guzzle as much gas as those ridiculous Excursions

What's up, My 351 in a '82 will not set you back in the seat. Is it because it only has a 2bbl? I think it originally came with the variable ventri carb but it had been replace with a std 2bbl. Oh yea it likes dino juice 10 mpg uphill or downhill.

While I really like the 351....my Dad had a '94 XLT with the EFI5.8L,and it was a nice powerplant in the 104.7" wb Bronco, the most popular engine option in Broncos was the 302-especially the later EFI302 versions. With a few minor bolt-ons, a 302 can easily match a 351 in power, but then, yeah, you can basically add the same bolt-ons to a 351 to make it more powerful. For the ulitmate in push-you-into-the-seatback-when-you-get-on-it fun, the obvious choice would've been a EFI460,which FoMoCo bean counters chose to leave off the Bronco's factory option's list.I tried to "special order"
a EFI460-equipped Bronco XLT in 1994. It took Ford six months to tell me no.(Had 'em considering it for awhile, though!

If I had a 302 in my Bronco (I've got a 351 H.O.) it would have to be EFI so I could add some serious power to it w/o much work. I like my 351 but it does guzzle a lot of gas (9MPG) it is great for power though. Just barely touching the gas it'll pound itself off the line and up to 30 REAL quick

You forgot to mention those cheap and sleazy blazer road lights under the front bumper. I mean come on already...put some KC's on that sucker already! And one thing a Bronco does not have is a Front Bra!
