i was talking to a guy yesterday that travels with a 7.3 for grasshopper doing expos. he has been in this truck for 4-5 years and tows a box trailer with 3-4 mowers. not a big load, but he has over 260,000mi. on it. original everything but... water pump, 2 batteries, alternator, and powersteering pump. the front end was rebuilt and aligned at 250,000ish. i think thats pretty good. not alot for the engine, but awesome for original auto tranny never touched. it is 2x4 stock. honestly, trucks will go longer if left stock. both of mine are cranked up a little, but very moderately. these trucks are built for what they come out with for most life. who agrees?
Had a chip for a while in the F250 but don't think the tranny liked it much.
Now the F250 has a 5in exh. system, pillar guages, tranny cooler, in-line tranny filter, and syn in everything but the 236K mile motor. Runs best out of the three. Retired from towing dump trailer daily.
The F350 has only been owned for 7 months and only mod has been an AIS. Looks like it's never been chipped, 125K miles. Soon to be switched to synthetic. Used mainly to tow the dump trailer.
The Excursion is bone stock and is staying that way, plenty of power for wifey's daily driver, 169K miles original tranny, never chipped, everything synthetic.
