start-up vacuum thump
there is a loud thump when i start up my 02 f350 cc 4x4 psd. i'm pretty sure it is a door closing in the hvac system. i have other sd psd and they all do it, but this one has gotten really loud. it is set in the floor/vents position. i have not checked it in other positions yet.i just figured somebody would get this one right away, as usuall thanks for everybody's help.

My 2003 SD V-10 did the same thing,traced it to a canister under the hood on the drivers side in front of the fender well,it has a number of small hoses attached to it,turn on the key and before you start up,while the bells are going off,you hear the thud!OR,your right,it is the HVAC door closing or opening,my wife tells me the landing gear has just retracted! My truck does both at times,hope this helps!
