Guys, I have a '93 Bronco-351W-aod. It has the std. hydraulic lifters and wiped out main bearings. I would like to update to a roller cam 351 ( '94- up )
Will I have to change any sensors or the computer? Could this be a " plug in " or should I just stick with the std. lifters ?? Thanks lots Ken
As long as you go back with a stock cam you can replace the lifters with hydraulic rollers and the engine and truck won't have a bit of problems, but I'm thinking you should have hydr. roller lifters stock, maybe wrong though.
If your wanting to go with solid rollers you'll need to replace the valvetrain(cam, lifters, guide plates, push rods, rockers and shafts, springs, locks) Might as well get new heads and build the engine if your going that route.
you want to find an F4te block, not all of these had roller cams in them but where roller ready. check your block first to see, the stamp should be down around the starter area.
should be plug and play, if you have to reuse your dizzy from the 93 motor make sure you install the proper cam gear its either bronze or steel, i always get this part mixed up.
