Yep. You'll need a manual t-case and the shifter and shift linkages. There's already a hole in the floor for the shifter to pass thru, you'll just have to pry up the plate which covers it. It's a worthwhile mod to know you'll have 4wd when you need it, all the time every time.
Sorry to dredge up this old post, BUT.......
I've got a '91 with an E4OD and the pushbutton $$#%&A($ t-case. It stopped working and I checked what I could......the shift motor is apparently good as I was able to jump the connctors and drive the motor back to 2wd. The dash switches appear to be relatively foolproof, but I have read some posts that say they can easily go bad. Then there's that #*$)@#$)@$ control module in the kick panel.....can you say EXPENSIVE???
Question is this......if you convert to a manual t-case what about the connections that disable the E4OD shifting and all that? It's probably easier than what I imagine, but not having seen a manual t-case it's sort of hard to figure......
Also anyone know of a cheap place to get those blasted control modules if I decide I can't go the other way?
