Posting for Posting's Sake

Is it just me in my advanced age or does it irritate you too when you get a notice when you logon to this website telling you that you have not posted in a couple of weeks? I find the notice that say's not to be afraid to post especially galling.

IMHO I don't post just to see my name in print. If I have something of value to contribute or have a question that needs an answer, I'll ask it. I don't need encouragement. I hate it when people blather when they have nothing to contribute. I guess blather is what the board wants rather than quality conversation. OK, my valium is kicking in now so I'll go away......

Curmudgeon out

I'll accept that because there are times I login that there isn't a post worth replying too, and raise you a, isn't just annoying when people want to bitch about thier brand new truck? Nothing comes off any assembly line perfect. Ask your question, have the factory fix it, and be done.

I'll double the raise with it annoyes the heck out me when there is a serious question and only one reply, but for stupid questions like "whats the best", or concerning unimportant items like train horns, Lockers, exhaust, cab lights, ect. people go on for pages? No real information is being given to support thier opinions, no facts linked, just irrational opinion. It just goofy accessories, everyone has a right to an opinion and you just have to try somethings out for yourself to see if you like it.

ReAX, nice rant and I agree with you. But that's what forums are for. There will always be opinions attached to every thread, post, and reply in one form or another.
