well here goes,
It all started when i took my 2000 F-250 superduty V8, off roading, through rather large quantities of mud. VERY LARGE PUDDLES, lets just say i took the truck for a swim. Hey the TV Advertisment said built tough, and showed them trucks driving through everything.
So heres the prob:
First it began with not upshifting, and me getting an error code about the evap circuit, i think it was 443 or somthing like that i forget and am to lazy to go plug the reader in.
However more recently that error code has started to show less frequently, and now the vehicle is upshifting again, however i tend to get a shudder when it hits a certain rpm, then i usually let off the gas or increase the gas, and the shudder will cease when the tranny shifts.
Also have noticed an odd faint burning smell comming from one of my dual exhaust tailpipes, and light white smoking, with a small amount of water dripping from tailpipe while car was idle and sitting just after startup.
Just for reference, i did of course wash most the mud off
well it occurs to me, that you are definately screwed, yup thats the problem alright. Go get your wallet prepare to blow all your money, and kiss beer for the next year goodbye.
I would say first, climb underneath the truck and check all the transmission connectors. As a matter of fact I would clean everyone I could find and silicone seal them if playing in the mud is what you want to use the truck for...
I think this is a fantastic idea. I love the poll. I love answering yourself, er um, 12A thinks that answering ones self is a great thing. It saves other people untold time and hassle.
And Redford. DUDE. Did we go to different schools together or what. I swear half the stuff that comes out of you I thought I was the only one who said. Sucks to be you was my motto for years. Flights that I humped through OTS came out of there and on graduation day got to say it doesnt suck to be us anymore!!! and nobody knew what the heck they were referring to.
Wingnuts unite, I guess.
Well mainly i thought i might get more attention, if it looked like my post already had some attention, and showed it was read once. Aparently i was right, however i did not quite receive the attention i wanted, i moreso was looking for attention to my inital post and not my responding to myself
So i propose this, i will no longer anwser myself, and you can tell me how to fix my car please
I did recieve one anwser i will look into, that being checking the connections, however anyone else with any ideas feel free to offer them and ill check those out as well.
I'm rep pointing him just for having a decent sense of humor about all of this. Some folks would get hacked.
RJB - taking over, not a chance. Done gone finished good place to have been I like bein civvy now. I dont think they'd take ya back after heart surgury anyways *whew*
Now for an attempt at the OP's ??, which frankly, I really don't know, but the idiot in me feels like swagging a guess. You got water somewhere it aint supposed to be. There. That was bright, wasn't it?
It sounds like tranny, how it gets in, I dunno, but you submerge it enough I'm sure there's plenty of ways. The white smoke makes me think you got it in the engine too. I'd be a little nervous. I sure don't think I'd be driving it a lot right now. I would probably go to my favorite mechanically inclined individual and say "I done a bad thing and I aint bright enough an caint fix er" (which isn't really supposed to be a snapshot of you as much as the reality of being me some days) and let them slap my checkbook into the next county when they tell me everything that got fragged.
And buy a snorkel. :-)
