i was wondering if anyone here had tryed this before or has any comments on the idea. i was thinking that if i took the suspension (coils and leaves) out of an f250 from the same year as my f150 it would give almost the same effect as putting a lift on the truck since the truck overall would be lighter. am i right in thinking this or am i going in the wrong direction? fyi the truck i am working with is an 84
thanks to all

I used the following parts from an F-250 on my F-150
460 sub-frame mounts
Front Coil Springs
Front Anti-Sway Bar
I got the parts from an 83 F-250 2WD put them on a 82 F-150 2WD
The front coils made no difference in ride or height. Made a huge handling difference.
i forgot to mention that the f150 im working with has an I6 and a 4sp OD tranny. maybe the springs from an f350 would do what im looking for?
I don't think the F-350 rears will do you any good at all because the F-350 rear axle housing (Single or Dually) is a different diameter which automatically makes the truck sit higher than a F-150. And yes, there may be an extra leaf or two on the F-350, but that is barely noticeable. Almost the same holds true for the front spindle and king pin assembly. You also have larger diameter wheels on the F-350. All of these differences combined will contribute to a higher stance on a 2WD chassis.
Like I mentioned earlier, the front coil spring height between F-150 and F-250 are identical. The coil diameter is larger on the F-250 as is the front sway bar diameter. If my old-timers memory serves me, I'm thinking that the F-350 may have front leaf springs as opposed to coil springs.

If you put F-150 4x4 coils on a F-150 2wd, you will get some lift, but as stated before, you will not be able to properly align your truck. I did this with an 1983 F-100 and it looked great, but I ended up trading it in before the tires got too worn.
