No, I'm getting closer to the truth. Through a ton of reading and tinkering I have found that the truck is originally from California, which has much stricter emmission laws. My dizzy is different because it has no vacuum advance and and instead uses electronic engine control. The reason the Duraspark module's grommet was brown is because that was the standard module for the Duraspark III. I have a lot of research still because the previou owner, I assume, was trying to convert over to the Duraspark II and started cutting emission wires. I guess he figured out that he was retarded and sold the truck to the next unsuspecting buyer. I should have known by how nice the paint was that it didn't come from WA.
