Coil Voltage?

Coil Voltage?
I have a 89 f150 with a 300 in it. The truck has no spark. My question is I have 12 volts going into the coil on the wires on the top, but only .43 volts where the plug wire hooks up to it. Does this sound like a bad coil? THX

I don't think you can measure the hi voltage (plug wire connection) with a normal multimeter. I think you need to check your ignition module and pick-up coil. AutoZone will check your module for you fro free. I hope this helps

If you have 12v to the lead, your on the right track. One of the terminals should fluctuate between 0 and 12v. Going to ground triggers the spark. If you have both, replace the coil, it's a cheap enough part.
