my 03 f250 v-8 automatic . is idling very rough, hesitates and shutters unbearably, almost undrivable unless you keep it tached up in lower gear. Acts like its missing terrible. Can't even drive in overdrive feels like i will shaken out of the cab. Used to shutter infrequently between drive and overdrive, now all of the sudden its doing this . "no" check engine light. Can anyone offer any suggestions. Also exhaust system makes ticking noises when shut off no matter how long its been driven.

Sounds like you have a eng misfire.Could be ignition(bad plugwire) or fuel injector problem.Eng misfire can destroy the cat converter.Need to scan the computor & diag the problem.
