I think the looks are worth the extra effort. Look awesome! I just meant that the filter removal tool or socket whichever is used wont fit over the gauges and or sending unit, sure wouldnt want to use a crescent or pipe wrench on those babies. As far as quick disconnects I believe they make them for 1/8" npt same as the ones for 1/4" npt air hose, but you would have to use a deep well socket thats for sure. Think I am gonna get me some of those caps they are cool.

one other thing to think about is height. Would you have enough clearance between cap top with quick disconnect/Gauge and the hood? just curious.

the oil pressure readings fluctuate alot, when i start it up and it been sitting for 10 hours or more, the oil psi goes up to 80psi at an idle, it will go up to 100 psi when taking off when the rpms get up, but after i drive it for 5 minutes or so, the oil psi will come down to 30 psi at an idle and go up to 60-80psi when driving after it has warmed up..................................Diesel_D, i was worried about hood clearance the way the fuel gauge is setup now, it just barely clears, but if i had a quick disconnect to install i could take out a coupling and a nipple to shorten it a little to make room for the dissconnect.

Southbound thats nodoubt some fine work. I noticed that you have your egr still hooked up. Had you ever disconneted it? Do you ever clean it out? I ask cause i see you have so serious modds and it's sorta my understanding from my research that most guys at your level of modding has deleted the egr. I'm undesided on the subject. I read the 'whole' in the tech files on the subject and out all {what 170 ?}the posts i cant find heads or tails as to weither it actualy does anything. I was suprised to see your's still hooked up with you having deleted your cats and muffler.
Yea theres an 1/8" thread on the quick connect.

This place here says they have quick connects for fluid use

TOMCO Quick Couplers
Says they carry 1/8” to 1 ½” brass (under straight thru fittings)

<O</O
http://www.tomcoquickcouplers.com/product/straightThrough/st/index.html

<O</O
<Ohttp://www.tomcoquickcouplers.com/pdf/pg34-35.pdf

TOMCO website "Straight-Through or “Full Flow” couplers are non-valved and are usually applied in liquid systems needing maximum flow with no restrictions. Some typical applications are in chemical processing, pressure wash, plastic mold coolant lines, on water manifolds, food processing and other liquid handling applications where shut-offs are not needed and full flow is advantageous"

Dont know anything about them except for what I read on a web search

Whats kinda cool is on that PDF they show they have dust caps which would look real good when not using the gauges for any reason.

Thumbs up quick connects

i think i will try a set of those 1/8th inch quick connects for my fuel psi guage and my oil psi sensor, on my filter caps, this would make filter changes alot faster and easier.

Brother i am sorry. I have somehow missed your response to this post. I found the connectors at ace hardware. Sure they work for fluid. The kind i use is used with high pressure washers like 10ks, 20ks. Of course i use them on my airhoses. I like them better cause they are alittle bigger and sure are easier to couple together for me.

Hey South Bound I notice you have the Black plastic cac tube connected to your elbow. They have those crappy hose clamps on them.Well actually looking at your pictures your hose clamp looks to be more heavy duty then the one that was on my truck. Well anyway my cac tube kept blowing off, so I just got an aluminum cac tube with much better clamps put on at the dealer (they said it was a recall). I dont know if you have had the cac tube blowing off problem but if you tow up any mountains you probably will. instead of just one hose clamp the new ones have a rubber sleeve fitted between the elbow and the cac tube with 2 heavier clamps on them.

as for my exp on the egr unplugg...I did it for about a 3 mile test run..did notice quicker spool up by about 2-300rpms once up to opp temps first WOT run seemed like it was missing its ***...mbrp seemed much calmer...2nd wot run watching my boost guage...i was between 25-27psi....couldnt get any higher than that...my norm is 32-33psi...so the loss of bost wasnt worth the quicker spool i plugged that sucker back in..

Diesel D, i called the ford dealer today and they told me there are no recalls on the 2006's as of right now, so i guess that is only for the 2003-2004 trucks, but it was worth a try, i much rather have the metal cac tubes with the rubber couplers than the plastic ones i have now.....................
