i was reading a articule in a magazine about a guy that builds performance 5.0L engines. One of the upgrades that he did was to drill a very very small hole in a oil galley plug that was right behind the timing chain. This plug was behind the cam sprocket. if you are looking directly at the block and imagine the cam as a clock, the plug that was drilled is the one in the 11 oclock position. (if that makes sence)
i lost the articule, but i was wondering if anyone has heard of this? does it have any benefits? and how big the hole could be before you run into oil pressure problems? also does anyone have any secrets to better the oiling system on a 91 5.0L? thanks for reading this
no problems with the stock oiling system. it just seemed to make sence to have a oil supply directly on the timing chain, especially if your running a double roller. just wanted to know if anyone has tried it! thanks for the reply!!
