These new trucks have onboard recorders. They started this along time ago to void warrantys. They record excess engine revs, Hard exceleration, Hard braking etc. Some of these new vehicle have gps the dealer dont tell you they claim ignorance. If the air bag goes off the ECM freezeframes. I other words if you want to haul a++ you need to get a old truck. You getmore horsepower for your dollar. The vehicles are lighter in most cases. Its easier to get around emmisions. Insurance is cheaper. GO GET YOU A OLD F100 AND PLAY OK...

It's not that I want to go zooming down the interstate at 125 mph,I am past the Kamakazi part of my life. What bothers me is someone keeping tabs on me without my permission.I paid X amount for my truck, this truck belongs to me. I expect some degree of privacy in my truck. I am not an airline pilot, bus driver Tractor trailer driver or rail road engineer,so I dont think my expectation of privacy is unreasonable. After all, whats next? Cameras in our homes so our homeowners insurance can see if we left a candle burning? OK,I'll step off the soap box now!

you have your privacy, and your welcome to try and go 125+ down the interstate. yes, it's your truck. buuuuut... tell me why a dealership should warranty your parts when you're driving a truck 100+ mph and you have a blowout? or your tranny fails? maybe you get hurt and try and sue?
what if you're hauling way over the suggested towing capacity and blow yer rear end out? it goes on and on. see where i'm going? it's to protect the company. i don't see why someone has to go 100 anyways, and moreso, why they think that the dealer should warranty for negligence. honestly, they make better vehicles for the racetrack...

As I stated earlier,I have no desire to go rippin down the interstate at excessive speed. My problem lies in what all this will eventually lead to. Imagine if you will; You pull up to a police check point, some cop pulls out an electronic reader and downloads your history then comences to write you a ticket because you were doing 55 in a 45 last week. I still think and always will that I am entitled to a reasonable degree of privacy
