Ok, I'm restoring a 77 F150 4wd, and one of the front shock mounts, which is RIVETED to the frame is eaten away badly. I've checked some of the aftermarket places, can't seem to find any frame parts. This has to be replaced, it's even dangerous-looking. Any ideas on where I might find a replacement for this jewel???
Did I say FRONT? Hoo, boy, it is the rear, drivers' side mount. Hopefully, now that I know which is the front of the truck and which is the back, it will make restoring it a little easier!
As I said, it is riveted to the frame, but the one on the passenger side is bolted, which tells me it's been replaced at some point, so they have to be available somewhere. So, that means, bucks77ford, you posted the correct mount. I checked that listing on e-bay and that looks like what I need. I may bid on those if I can't find a new one somewhere.
And, NumberDummy, I looked at the truck this morning to be sure, and the front shocks have a top mount that is fastened directly to the frame. I have the inner aprons off, and the engine out, just the frame and front suspension sticking out, and it is definitely mounted to the frame.
Ahhh... I wish my truck issues were this easy. I'd just drill out the old mount and either go get one at the junk yard or get some newer mounts and weld away. I would love an excuse to dump a grand or so into rebuilding the suspension on my truck. I'm about to begin from tthe bottom to the top on the brake system. Even new brake pedal, lines, calipers, rotors, drums, pads, booster, master cyl., etc. My damn brakes are squeeking and it's driving me mad.. unfortunately until I get it taken apart I may be putting some good time into brakes before I move on to the suspension without much reason. Not worried. Except for the frame of the truck, I'm willing to replace everything with new. I'd replace those shocks with new ones and new mounts that I've welded to the apron or the frame (wichever end of the truck you need).
Ha, ha, you need to see my truck before you compliment me on it's issues being easy. It's been used hard by my uncle for almost 30 years, and I'm rebuilding it for sentimentality, and the fact it was a hoss of a truck in its day. He's 81 years old and when I promised him I'd take him for a ride when it was finished, he looked at the truck, and then at me and said, "How much longer do I have to live?"

Since this big dummy can't crawl underneath anything any more... I relied on the pic in the book for front mount location..poorly drawn pic shows front upper mount adjacent to inner fender apron.
The upper rear mount you need might still be available...F150 4X4 uses the same mount as F100/250 2WD 1973/79, but it's different than a F250 4X4.

This one's not much of a tower, or a mount, or anything else. It has a hole the size of a 50-cent piece eaten all the way through it, and I'm surprised it can still hold up anything. I'm gonna get the new one at Bronco Graveyard...for $45 it's worth the piece of mind.
