Has anyone ever researched what other trucks have the same size Bed as say a 1966 Ford longbed.
Has anyone adapted any later model camper shells to their truck?
Is there a vendor that offers a camper shell for these trucks?
Thanks
RUMOR ONLY, muttered by my local cap/bedliner sales guy when asking about a tonneau for my longbed--some Dodges may be the same.
Tape measure, car lots on a Sunday afternoon...I see success in your future.
LOL, Wish it was that easy for me. Every camper company I've talked to across the country in my travels tell me the same thing. NOBODY makes a shell for my angled out top rails. Guess I'm gonna have to get a custom job...

But they did once...and they are around. The ones I remember were slide ins, and the sides extended slightly over the rails. Check with local camper dealers, there may be one out in the back lot...and...out in the San Fernando Valley, there's a place that specializes in old trailers, campers and motor homes. There was a feature article recently in the Los Angeles Times about the place, and I think the SoCal AAA had something too. Where is it? Dang, I can't remember exactly, but it was either in Van Nuys or the Reseda area on a major north/south boulevard.
Another place to look..old trailer parks, farms and ranches. Junkyards too. Once a scrounger...always a scrounger!

Thank Guys,
John, The soft tops won't work for camping. I may not need to stand up but the dog does, LOL.
ND- I'm not sure the last time I didn't stop to scrounge, LOL. It's in the blood. If you ever remember where to find either of those articles, please let me know.

I'll let my fingers do the walking through the yellow pages, and I'll see if I can find the articles.
Out along Holt Blvd in Pomona and Ontario, there must be a hundred camper dealers. On Valley Blvd in El Monte there are dozens more.
Have an email address? You can email me off FTE.
When one has Basset Hounds, it's difficult to tell whether they are standing or not. But mostly they're just flopped down on sofas.
