For what it would cost to purchase and ship a pristine 8' bed, you would be much better off buying a complete truck from the south or southwest. There are literally thousands of 80's F-Series trucks in the salvage yards just waiting to be crushed. I see them going to the crusher all the time here in Texas. There is very little demand for them.
I happen to have one, you can see it in my gallery. I plan to strip that truck shown in my gallery to build another. I won't be using any of the sheet metal body parts except for the hood, and the only reason for that is I plan to convert it into a cowl induction hood. But again, shipping the body parts is not cost effective.
If you want the bare shell just for the sheet metal, you can have it along with the title if you have a way to haul it off. It will be a rolling chassis only in two months time. No drive train, no instrument panel, gutted on stock wheels and tires. It will include complete body and glass less hood, included is side trim, rear trim, rear roll pan, tonneau, also a fairly new 19 Gallon side mount fuel tank with sending unit and fittings welded in place for any type electric frame mounted fuel pump. No grill, no front bumper, no headlamps, no 9" carrier, no 460 sub frame mounts, no transmission cross member. I plan on scrapping this truck anyway, so here it is for free (when I finish stripping it) There is no rust that I know of anywhere. It does have a few tiny dings here and there. The bed floor is neither rotted nor rusted but well used.

I highly doubt that, I'm looking at a no rust flat bed for 50 bucks, and around 150-200 shipping via uShip. It does have a few things though, but I think I can fix it. If I can finalize the shipping it's a done deal, but I'd still like to line up back ups !
That is a nice truck, why would you want to scrap it?

I am building an F-150 short bed Flareside. It was my new year resolution to lose some weight!....LOL
Sorry...the truck in the gallery is not a flatbed. But the offer still stands for anyone needing a good rot free body and chassis.
