I guess im an idiot, I only see rotors and brake line kits and stuff for my truck when i look it up. Iv never felt so dumb in my life when it came to cars.
The only reason I knew about the calipers was my new catalog. I'm about ready to replace my rotors & I was checking the catalog for rotors & the calipers are on the same page. I may check the prices on the better calipers.
better brakes are definitly fun, I want to at least upgrade my calipers. I havea Baer kit on my taurus SHO and there freakign aweomse, they practically lift the rear tires off the ground, I have all wheel big brakes though but still its really fun.
I'd have to buy bigger wheels to use a big brake kit. I don't see me spending the money for wheels & tires for my old truck. I will just upgrade my calipers if Ido anything. I don't tow anything heavy now so the stock brakes are ok with the slotted rotors & Hawk Ferro-carbon pads
Theres a place out here in Ontario,CA....G&J aircraft...they sell aricraft parts and they do a lot of custom hot rod stuff too. If you take em in the old lines they'll match up the end fittings and make you a set or braided stainless steel lines for like $50. Maybey theres a similar outfit out there where you are?

50 BUCKS? Id pay an easy 100 for them, im trying to get them made but so far so luck.
I called wilwood and they told me a caliper I could get for my truck, and its a 98 so I assume 97 is the same. it was a 4 piston caliper, and all you would have to do is get a custom bracket made to make it work.
you didnt miss it, its not "made" for the f-150 but when i called and asked he said it would work and thats the caliper he reccomended be used on that truck for my specific application. Just give them a call and they can pretty much tell you what to get for your specific application.
no I have one on my Taurus SHO its pretty simple, jsut give the machine shop specs on the caliper, liek where the bolts are and then where the stock caliper bolts are. If you want a bigger rotor specify how much larger you are going. I used this method on the rear of my SHO and it works great. And no they dont have the caliper he said they dont make it because they usually just sell the full big brake kit.
I sure would feel more comfortable if they supplied the bracket. I'd buy their caliper if they supplied the bracket. Let me know how it works out for you if you go with this.
