have a 88 xlt with a 302, aod. Looking for some headers but dont wanna spend a lot of cash doing so, no more than 450 would be cool also a cat back exhaust for those who run a full exhaust what do you think is a good company?

Look for some shorty headers. I bought the Flowtech one's but Edelbrock and JBA will make some as well. I got a great deal on mine and had them ceramic coated at a local shop. I believe Edelbrock and JBA offer a set that are already coated.

Good headers but not to expensive?

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 11-Sep-02 AT 06:30 PM (EST)]I got a set of Summit Racing shorty's for around $100! They work just fine, but were not ceramic coated. If cheap is your goal, then these headers are a good pick. I got these as a quick replacement for my cracked manifolds (they are even cheaper than a replacement manifold!) but have found no need to replace them with any different brand.

Will the long tube headers bolt right up, or do you have to do other mods too?

1992 Bronco Eddie Bauer: K&N, Magnaflow Exhaust, too much money in stereo equipment, 33X12.50 tires on stock suspension. Check it out: [link:aries.ccicom.com/truck|My Fat Truck (Updated)]

The shorty headers will be the direct bolt up. I also have the summit shorty's and love them. If you want to go the long tube way you will need to redo the exhaust and it will also get you into trouble with the smog police.
