hello ford fans im new here and need sum help please i got a 89 f250 with 460 in it my problem is it will start and idle for 10-15 min then die just like it aint getn fuel put a new fuel pump on it what can do to solve this problem when try drive it it run for about ten min also any help be appreciated thanks
I had the same problem with my motorhome. I don't know about your F250 but it sounds like when you are in start mode the fuel pump is on, when you are in run mode it shuts off.
On mine there are several switches it has to go through to keep the fuel pump on in run mode. Mine has 2 vacuum switches, an oil pressure switch and a rollover switch...And of course the ignition switch
In my case a connector for one of the vacuum switches melted on the manifold and shorted out.
Maybe someone with attachment posting privileges has a schematic they can post.

thanks for rhe help lewislynn and if sumone does have schematics sure would like to see
There should be an oil pressure switch on the back of your engine (behind the intake manifold) near the oil pressure sending unit. Start your engine and check it for power, as I recall that was the last switch before the rollover/inertia , switch...BTW, check out one of those manuals at the auto parts store or maybe even the library.
