Well, I installed my dynomax headers and Clifford intake with Motorcraft 2150 carberetor. When i go to take off, the truck stumbles through all 3 geers. With new fuel filter, it looks almost like there is no gas going through the line. Is my stock fuel pump on my 77 f100 not enough for the moto 2150 that came off a 351m? Or is there a problem elswhere? Any mans opinion is appreciated!
If you just put all of these new parts on I would bet on the carb or a vacuum leak. Did it run fine before all of these new parts? You can always check the fuel pressure with an inline fuel pressure gauge. I have one on the inlet of my holley 390. With my stock mechanical fuel pump I get 5 to 7 psi. Thats what it should be between. All you need is a T-fitting and a the gauge should be about $15 or so at a local parts store.
Yeah, it ran fine before, other than weak. I'll try and check the fuel pressure tommorow. I'm thinking bad vacum myself at the moment. Thnx for the Reply
Our 82 fuel pickup was clogged with trash. It ran fine for a few miles and would stall out. I cleaned the pick up an pulled the rotted in-tank filter. I need to replace it soon.I added an inline filter an replaced the rubber lines. All good now!
