i have been running Delo400 15w40 for about 50k and have been really pleased with it, but the next change i will start running Rotella syn 5w40 because i live in much colder climate now. i got the delo at pepboys or napa or checker and i buy my rotella at wal mart.
I purchased Rotella Synthetic 5W40 in gallon containers from my local walmart. It performs better for cold starts in my climate (Southcentral, PA). Perhaps your walmart had more in the stockroom?
I'm taking my first run at the Amsoil DEO 5w40. If you become a dealer for Amsoil, check out the link below. You won't be able to participate in the "Oil & Lubrication" forum.
I have been using the Shell Rottela syn 5w-40 and it has been working good for me. I thought there might be some oil consumption with the lighter oil but, it has been no different than the 15w-40
i use delo 5-40 syn and i get it at our local chevron cardlock fuel station, been using it for the last year and a half, no problems yet, better starts
Yup, like I said in the other thread... 750,000 miles on three differant PSD's and they changed 90% of the oil in them.
The wifes X gets Rotella syn. from Wal-mart (we do change it ourselfs). But mine gets rotella from Jiffy lube... They love to pop the hood and I spend about 5-6 months in each area so they get used to be watching them. Hell I let them take it for a test drive from time to time...
They charge about 60 most times, less if bring in my 4 qt oil filter...
OOPS!!! I hit post before I mentioned that I have a cousin and a brother that both run the same oil and my brother's truck has 350 K on it and my cousin's truck has 400K on it. So I believe it works and both run it in any climate.
i run Mobile 1 delvac super 1300 15w-40 dino, it's alittle rough on those cold morning starts sometimes, but when warm it runs great. thinking of going to 5w-40 syn
