I had an injector problem on my 1999 f350. I removed all 8 of them and took them to a local diesel shop. They sent them out to be tested. The test results showed number 2 and number 5 are bad, and the rest got hot.......???? They said they don't know what would cause that, either do I. The only thing I can figure is some bad fuel, or the additive I put in. I put Power Service fuel additive in a few times for the cold. So, do I replace the 6 that got "hot"? Or just the 2 and leave the "hot" ones. They have a slight blueish hue to them, as if they got hot, but if they didn't come back bad, should I replace them?
Just looking for some expert help. I am no mechanic, but I am attempting this repair on my own, in my garage. The costs are way too high to have it repaired by someone else.
Anyone with this problem, or anyone who is a mechanic, please help!!!!!!!
I don't really have the money to drop in this thing now. It is only a work truck. I know injectors run from $300-$400, so 8 of them will really set me behind.
