Hello
New guy here. I own a 2003 F-350 and lately when I hit bumps in the road I here a knocking or rattling from the front passenger side of the truck. Just wondering if anyone else has heard this problem. Wondering if it is the ball joints or a shock? Any ideas?
Is this a 2wd, or 4wd?
Could be any of those, but the most common noise comes from the sway bar bushings, or the body mounts for the cab.
Isolate the problem first by doing a good inspection of all of the bushings, and check the ball joints.
My money is on the sway bar bushings where the bar meets the axle. (if 4x4) Verify this by removing the links that at the lower end, and tie them up so they don't bang around. Then drive again to duplicate the noise. If it goes away, then you have found your problem, and changing the bushings is a snap. Good luck.

Forgot to add it is 4Wheel Drive. When I get time after all the snow and rain I will give the whole front end a good look over. The only thing that I noticed is on the lower ball joint (pass. side) looks like a little bit of grease is showing!! So I will take a better look soon and thanks for your input.
