There is one very inexpensive solution that works fairly well - good enough for my tastes anyway.
For $30 in the Auto section of Target I found a unit that plugs into the cigar lighter and broadcasts over one of the low end FM stations (87.7-89.1 I think). The unit plays music off a USB drive and also has a jack to plug in an Ipod or other similar device.
I figured it would be a POS but I am actually quite pleased. I throw a few hours music on a thumb drive and off I go. It was inexpensive and very portable.
Nittrmjr, Do you have any specifics on that unit you found at target? It sounds like what I have been looking for.
Thanks, Eric
No specifics but if you look at Target, Autozone, Wally World or any place like that I am sure you can find one just like it. All it is is a plug for the cigar lighter with a slot for a USB drive and a jack for the external device. Pretty simple little device but beats the heck out of dealing with CD's or listening to the crap on the radio.

Can't help with that but there is an Audio forum down the board a little that you may have better luck in. I'd post your question there as well.
