Hedman Elite Headers

Has anyone used these headers on their 351W? They are what I am looking at, and I just wanted to get some thoughts on them before I plopped down some money, they are thermal coated with a 3 inch collector. I am planning on bolting on a set of purple hornies header mufflers to them. does this sound like a good plan?

Does anyone think that this will be to much and I will lose some off of the low end?

Any ideas are appreciated.

This might be a little redundant, I guess I could have included it in my post about the mufflers, but oh well.

Double check the footnotes on the Headman site. That header is listed as not having an EGR attachment. You will want that and the O2 sensor bung to be compatible with your EFI motor. The 89428 is probably the right model number.

After some more looking at the footnotes, the 89428 doesnt seem to have the emissions stuff either, and it also has a stock collector size, I was looking for something with a 3 inch to bolt up to a set of purple hornies, they are 3 inch (unless I am confused with how the whole collector size/flange thing works) I guess I will keep looking for something else, unless anyone has any other ideas.

but then again, would I just have to drill and tap a place to put the o2 sensor? that would be all that would be needed right?

one other thing with those headers. They have a ball and socket flange. It doesn't take a gasket. The end of the collector is ball shaped and gets tightened into the socket on the reducer. It probably won't work with a muffler that bolts onto the header.

Yeah, I noticed that about 3 minutes ago, I was looking at other stuff and breezed over that. I am looking on summit now, and hav exlcuded ball and socket, so the purple hornies will bolt up

One other question, is the collector diameter the same as the output diameter of the header? I am pretty sure that it is, so with a 3 inch diameter collector, I would need a 3 inch exhaust, or the purple hornies which are 3 inch, right?
