x plan pin

Getting ready to purchase 07 sd/ psd and was told to ask fellow ford-truck members foran x-plan pin. I don't know what it is but it saves you money when you purchase a vehicle . Can anyone help. How easy is it to use? Does it really get you the best price? Thanks again a

Tell the dealer to give you one? Thought you had to be a relative or something like that of a Ford employee. One of my relatives is retired Ford employee said he could get me X plan he would need my Social security number to sign me up when I was read y to buy another Ford. Not exactly sure how it works though but the 12K off sounds like a sweet deal !

I thought you had to work with certain companies to qualify for X-Plan. Not just go in and ask for a pin. I had to go through some calls and information to get mine. I work for a company that qualifies for this pricing plan.

any afl/cio union member qualifies for the x- plan. ther are some other ones also but the x covers family and friends the a plan which i got is for ford workers and their immediate family and you get two of those a year. the a plan gets you all rebates and incentives and no dealer prep. or delivery fees. any employee can call and generate the pin number from ford. then the dealer you select will take the info from you on the numbers and such they need to process the deal. when you walk in with a pin they hold the vehicle for you which is nice since i was waiting on a check to pay for it and there were some delays getting it but the a plan pin is gold to the dealer.

does this plan apply to only new vehicles from the dealer or can it be used on preowned vehicles also?

The X plan gives you a substantial discount on the new vehicle you purchase, plus it fixes the price so there is no negotiating.

Sometimes an Internet price will beat out an X plan price. Find your vehicle on line thru ford.com using the "build your ford" page, click on the SEARCH INVENTORY button. Find the vehicle you want at a local dealer, click on REQUEST THIS VEHICLE and then GET AN INTERNET PRICE. Within 24 hours they will e-mail you a price. It can beat the X plan price. This is also a fixed price, no negotiating.

If the price meets your budget, schedule a test drive. If not, just tell them no thanks.
