Well, i just got my superchips tuner back from getting it updated, due to the new ford injector flash. And now in any of the three programs the computer wont let the truck shift out under 3/4 to full throttle conditions. It will let the truck rev out to 4000 rpm, kill power and just stumble on its self untill i let off the the throttle which then allows the truck to shift to the next gear. This happens for all gears not just one.
I called superchips today, and the tech guy named ike was being very stubborn(thats being nice) on telling me that it wasnt the tuner and that is was my truck. I was like well... i just got the truck back from the dealership for the new reflash program and they checked the truck over from top to bottom and there was not a thing worng with my truck. It drove and shifted perfrectly upto the point of reinstalling the tuner when i got it back from the update.
Ike says that, "yeah because of it having more power the computer doesnt want you to shift out under full load."
I Said," So i am supposed to let my foot of the throttle in order for it to shift???"
Ike says," yes"
So after a little back and fourth , he still is trying to tell me its my transmision now.. and he is going to contact a ford tech, to see if he can help. I will be waiting for that phone call.... Oh, and since i will probably have to send it back in thats going to another 12.50.
Your right it is the tuner. Superchips called me back and told that they put in the wrong transmission program and to send it back. They also are paying for shipping both ways.
I think it's great they "manned up" and admitted their mistake. When you get ready for some real power call the guys at LIPD and get you an SCT XCal2 or a Livewire with custom tunes just for your truck.
