When I got my 2000 the truck has some blue bulbs for the front lights and they are fine but one of them is acting up. What is a good pair of lights for replacement? I am kinda wondering about the yellow running light right below the headlight too. It was out a few days ago and I hit the lens and she came back on. I was going to replace the bulb but I am hoping that you dont access the running lights below the headlights via the screws above the bumper b/c the bumper must be raised a tad on that side and you cant get to the screws on 1 side. Any thoughts?
Be careful with some of those high watt blue bulbs with stock headlight wiring. They have been known to melt more than a few wires in that circuit.
I run a excess of high watt lights on my truck, but everything that has more juice flowing through it has been rewired with a minimum of 12 ga. and relayed to pull straight from the battery. The wiring in any vehicle is the bare minimum of what is needed for cost purposes. When you add extra loads to these circuits, something has to give and it usually creates a bit of brain damage for the owner.
Sorry, I forgot to answer your parking and marker light question.
Yes, its the two bolts between the bottom of the light assy. and the bumper that need to be removed.
Not really, but the easiest way to do it is to but a pre made harness. That makes it plug and play so to speak. I'm an electrical contractor so I obviously have most of the materials lying around.
If you're new to vehicle wiring the way to go is the pre made route even though it is a little pricier.

the nice thing with the upgrade is even with stock bulbs, you get brighter headlights because of the larger wire. Electricity basically runs through wire like water through pipes. The bigger the wire, the more current that can flow.
