I've got a 94 with an EFI 460. Starts great, idles great, and if you give it throttle VERY VERY slowly, it runs great and perfectly smooth. If you put it in gear or give it throttle in a normal fashion, it sounds like its hitting on 3 or 4 cylinders. I've replaced the following: New in tank fuel pump, EGR valve and sensor, MAP sensor, Throttle Position Sensor. Any Ideas??????
got me puzzled on that one, does it have the e4od trans?maybe trans related,,replaced the ign module?, bad fuel pressure regulator? ,,check your fuelpressure,,please get back with your findings
Does the 94 still have the batch fired injectors? if it does 4 of the injectors could be dropping out. I think theye were wired like the manifold planes are laid out. I can look tonight on my Mitchell on demand and see.
One other thing, did you ever replace the fuel filter? My 94 F250 460 E4OD had similar problems. THe filter needs to be replaced something like every 30-50K miles. Over time they clog up and you don't really notice a problem, but eventually the engine will be gutless and you might need to baby it along. I changed my filter and it was like night and day. Even the stumble when switching between tanks went away.
A cheap relatively easy fix that many of us forget.
