Post accessories don't work on "accessory"

The power windows, door locks, etc don't work when the ignition switch is turned to accessory... only in the on position. Any ideas?

Tom

The windows won't work withou the key in ON.
The door loacks should work without the key at all.

My mistake, door locks was a bad example. So the windows, radio, etc only work in the on position.

I've had many Fords including 84, 87, 89, 90, 93, 94, 97 and the windows all worked in the accessory position.

I am pretty sure you ignition switch that controls the supply of juice to options as well as to run or start has gone bad. Not the key switch itself but the module down the column that is linked (with a rod?) to the key switch. Wasn't there a recall for fire risk a few years back?

You may have nailed it!

I called Ford and recall 95s28 applies to Broncos... faulty ignition switch and my Bronco has not been fixed.

Heads up - it's a safety recall - could possibly cause a fire. Any Ford / Lincoln / Mercury dealer will replace affected vehicles free of charge.
