drop in bed liner

Hey guys,
I am rebuilding one of my favorite trucks of all time, a 1977 F100, 302, C4, short bed regular cab I have owned since '79. I am getting down to some of the details, and I would like to find a drop in bed liner. I know all of the arguments and I still want a drop in. Is there a vendor which can supply these. I have searched the internet and this site and all I keep coming up with is the blasted sprayon. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

I'm not even sure, a drop in was made for these trucks. I have never seen one.

Just make sure you clean the drain holes and wax the metal of the bed really well. It doesnt have to be pretty etc, just has to protect from corosion etc.

Should apply wax to the metal every year or so, and check for damage etc..

hope this helps.

Yep....you would be right. I keep forgeting that 90s inside beds are the same as 73-79. You could try this link:

I had one in my 78 regular bed from a later model. It was OK but not a real good fit. There are small differences in the sides. If you need a real good fit you are probably out of luck.

Things sliding easy is good and bad. You have to tie things down all the time in order for things not to slide. You don't want things to hit your front when you brake or your tailgait when you take off. Can cause damage to your bed or the thing your hauling. If your truck sees alot of moisture and doesn't have a bed cover, than moisture definatley is a problem getting under the liner and rusts out your bed. Benefits to both drop in liners and Rhino Lining. Just a matter of what you want. I've had two trucks with the drop in's and also had tonneau covers so moisture wasn't a problem.

Well boys, after a lot of research, I found a company which makes the drop in liners. They are Trailex, a division of Duraliner. Just $149. Thanks for the replys! Thank you also glenn79, the Duraliner lead is what led me down the yellow brick road!

I have a truck that has a drop in liner 155000 miles the bed is solid inside other than usuall rub rust. There are no sides left out side . My new truck is rinod and it dents gouges etc. I put a liner over top becuase I can double stack with it and no dents. I just remove to clean . And I like to slide stuff out of bed easier . To me Rino isnt worth the $$

I was going to let this dog lie, but what the hell

I agree. I have used dropin's for 25 years, never had a bed rust because of it. To me the spray on is just to permanent. No options. JMHO

$149 seems like a pretty good price for a drop in. Congrats.
