88 bronco needs help

I have an 88 that crank in 302 snapped, partially caused by C6 tranny problems. I'm trying to find out if I can replace the C6 with an AOD without having to change out computer module, also will the transfer case interchange on the 2 of them.
Thanks

The xfer case will...there are no comp controls, so no need for computer changes. The only thing that you will need is the TV cable and brackets.
As for going from C6 to AOD...the AOD is a less "stout" transmission. It has overdrive and can be built up, but in stock form it's a weakling.

Thanks Wild, Reason for the tranny change is C6 has sticking or frozen plates, I can pick up the motor and AOD for $750. While C6 is out I was planning on its rebuild which with R&R already performed by me is quoted around $400. Again thanks for the info.

For the c6 rebuild...you may want to consider a low drag kit that using torrington bearings instead of thrust washers, combined with a wide ratio gears from an e4od. Do a search for c-6 wide ratio kits.
