I lost a transmission hose while driving in southern Utah. The OD light Started flashing, So I pulled over and saw Transmission fluid coming out near the front of my truck, near the transmission cooler.

After getting Towed, replaced hose to the cooler, filled the transmission with 8 quarts,
Cannot add any more fluid.In the truck does not move at all.

any ideas?

 

What do you mean by cannot add any more fluid? Its already at proper level or when you try and add some it wont drain down the dipstick tube?

 

The transmission would not pump the fluid to the rest of the system.

Well, the shop I took it to said the transmission is bad, after dropping the pan. I will have to get it replaced.

 

It's sad, but most shops just recommend replacing the transmission instead of actually troubleshooting and repairing.
