hi everyone i have a 1997 4x4 with he electronic shift. my wife drove it today about 25 miles to a store everything fine when she came out and started off she noticed the 4 wheel drive light on. she looked at the selector and it was in 2 wheel . i drove it and sure enough you can tell its in 4 wheel drive. any ideas what it could be? do the switches just go bad? the 4 wheel drive has maybe been used 3 times. It has 135000 on it . It has the small v 8 thanks Tommy

 

You have a vacuum module on the front differential that has two lines going to it. This module moves the lever that locks your hubs. You should be able to manually move the lever towards the differential to unlock the hubs.
