Here is a picture of our 79 F-100. Want to fix the rust and paint it this year.
We have 4 inch stacks in this truck with the "redneck" whip antennas on each side of them.
Brother has a 79 that looks just like that without the pipes. Had a 400 in it. Son was at Wyo Tech at the time (before the florida split) and biult a hi pro 69 351W. He modified the 79 to take the 351. What a job that was. Now they are takeing it out to put in a 69 Couger. This engine will really move the car me thinks. He was going ta put the 400 back but has a running 302 so I talled him into puting it in for a parts runner till the couger is finished to the shinola.
The picture is taken at the old man's farm. The shop is a 40x60 shop with floor heat, so its a good size for the farm. Not too much room in it when dad has his bidirectional tractor and mix mill in it for storage. Still room enough for one project in the corner. On the left side of the shop is the attached barn, so it makes it handy having them together. Not sure on the barn dimensions, I'll have to check on that. The 79 has a 351W HO from a 85 half ton, a side loader 4speed overdrive trans, and a posi 9" with 3.70 gears. It originally had a 302, but it was blown (piston broke off, rod chewed the block into the water jacket) so we put in the 351W with headers and an weiand stealth intake with a holley 600 on top. The truck is a Lariat, has factor tilt, and also a sunroof. We bought the stacks at John Deere believe it or not, so we got it at our employee discount price.
Nice 79 Calvin, I like that blue.
I had a 73 F100/302/3 speed in that color, the po had put stacks on it.
It was a cool truck and one that I would like to have back.
