wiring v8 ranger

I was wondering what is the easiest way to wire 5.8l efi into a 1987 ford ranger. I would like to do it the cheapest.

The cheapest?

...lose the EFI. It'd be much easier to put a carb in. What year is the 5.8L?

Easy and cheap are not concepts that are compatible. There are companies that make efi conversion wiring harnesses. They walk you through the whole thing, and eliminate some of the stuff you don't need. But they are not cheap.

The cheapest would be to get very good wiring diagrams for the vehicle you got the engine from, and the vehicle the engine is going in, and then take the harness out completely and install it in the other vehicle. This requires knowledge of what's going on, and is not easy, but would be the cheapest.

Getting the complete EFI and wiring harness from a Ranger of a newer year.

The Computers are installed according to the vehicle it is operating in you can't interchange without recalibrating the computer to match the vehicle's equipment.

I don't think the ranger ever came with a v8 though.
