Ok here it goes, i was leavin work, with my truck (88 ford f-150) headin up rt. 19 to head home and got pulled over. The cop told me my truck was to loud.... I got full exhaust with a dynomax muffler on it. It is completely legal, and he said it was to loud. By the way it has the 4.9 Inline six in it. So i was like well why dont you pull over all these other trucks that are way louder than mine? He told me because they have dual exiting pipes....... At this point im bout to explode. He gave me a 107.50 ticket!!!! I dont know maybe he didnt meet his quota for the week or somethin idk.....
document your exhaust get a letter stating that its in proper working order with no mods or damages from a mechanic... make a tape of your exhaust and also get the company literature that states 50 state legal and fight the ticket you prolly scared the cop with your truck and he dropped his donut or something
I would as ranger1999 advises go to a reputable repair shop and have it inspected and get a letter from them saying your engine noise is normal and take it to court. Then I would be very nice and tell the judge that the officier evidently made an understandable error (perhaps another near by vehicle was making the excessive noise) and ask that the charges be droped.....You may win as long as they arent working a scam.
i hate them imports with them big azz exhaust tips on them ....looks like a coffee can or something ....thats wat they need to be worried about if there on exhuast ...
If only they would write noise tickets out here to the loud pipes idiots on bikes and the rattle your brain bass knuckleheads in cars.....
I got 2 city code violations placed on my cars while parked in my own driveway last week and several blaocks away a guy has 15 cars illegaly parked on his yard for years and nothing has been done,,,,,,,,,,Hard to fight a corupt city hall.just pay when you have to and hope someday you can get some pay backs
You right, wonder if those Harley's with straighters ever get in trouble? I wonder if cops just figure those cruiser's should be loud and don't bother with them.
yeah,I have been "warned" before around here in my jeep xj with only a glass pack, but any summer night around here you will be awakened from a dead sleep from motorcycle riders ROARING and making their pipes vibrate off houses and buldings as they go down my street. i just gotta ask where the hell is their ticket, not warning, because they are WAY to loud.
A cop stoped my brother once for speeding and he then asked why he was given a ticket when none of the 25 cars around him doing the same speed were not.Cop said" son you ever been fishin?" brother said "yes why"? cop said smiled and said "did you catch them all"? Looks like you got caught ,cleaned and fried.........lol
You don't have a hair on your donkey if you don't get a traffic hearing. Seriously. I don't mean to be antagonistic, but if we don't get a follow up post detailing your taffic hearing I'm going consider this just another self serving "cop wrote me a ticket" cry me a river of tears whine-fest. In fact, consider this my twisted way of begging you to please get a traffic hearing.
