Is it normal to peel out when i launch my truck in 4wd? I didnt think just a tuner and exhaust would make all my tires roll when i let go at 2k rpm!! It is very impreesive though
does it do any damage to the truck for the long term to burn all 4's? how high up to you rev the rpm's before you let the brakes go? can't it be done in 2wd and still take off fast off the line?

Nope. Do it in 2WD an you'll just sit and spin. I tried it that way at the strip. My times were super slow. 4WD is the best for launching these beasts. Of course it'll do some damage over the long term. It's adding extra wear. But it's just too fun!!
another question for just the guys who race at the strips, do you keep it in 4x4 the whole pass down the track? or just to get out of the start faster? sorry if it sounds like a dumb question.
Leave it in 4wd--I dont think it would make anything but a negligable difference anyway. You might find a better answer in the competition diesel section also. I know Lukecline runs his quite often with numbers. I'm sure he could tell you.
From what I've read it won't shift out of 4wd until you slow down unless you have a manual transfer case. Seems to me it would be a little hard on things anyway to shift it at wot.

Not a dumb question at all. Just lave it in 4wd the whole way. It won't release until the pressure is off anyway. Just make sure before you turn off at the end that you take it out of 4wd and let off the gas so the hubs will release ok.
