I found a part number F75Z-78624A14-AAA, but havn't been able to confirm if it's whole kit or just one piece.
You should run over to the pick and pull there in Sacramento. They have 2 Lincoln navigators and about 5 expeditions on their lot which should have those clips. All you need is a screwdriver to get them out. very simple.

I went to the Antelope one to get mine for the video. Last weekend I went to the Rancho Cordova yard and picked up four headrests to do the third row conversion. Cut out the whole bar and mounts with the headrest. Only paid $4.50 each.
I used iron on velcro I bought at WalMart. It has been holding up so far. I used a wet cloth between the iron and the velcro/carpet when heating so I would not burn the carpet. I did it with the seats still in the Excursion.
Ok, so I finished up the install of the clips to replace the velcro. Not too bad of a job, its always tough making that first cut. As the video shows there is a molded indention where you need to cut out the plastic for the clips.
When we got our 2002 last year I noticed this same annoyance.
Fixed it with 4 large snaps from Jo-Anns.
Use small screws to attach the male piece to the seat back.
Use the setting tool to crimp the cap to the female part.

I did the same thing as you. Except I went to Home Depot for snaps.
