Looking into buying a SD

Hello everyone. I'm a new member here and I'm looking into buying a SD (still debating whether to get a PSD or a V10). The truck will be a daily driver and used to tow my Cobra to and from the track a few times per year. My commute is 30 miles round trip and 90% highway.

There is a 2005 Ford F250 4DR Supercab Lariat 4WD 6.0L 8c 5AT with 19k miles for sale at a dealer near me. They are asking $26,999 for it. What can I expect to pay for it? Any issues with a 2005+ 6.0?

Thanks.

Edit: It looks like it has a tan leather interior, with some sort of special emblem on the back and side and from the pictures it appears as though it could be a King Ranch, but I could be wrong since I'm not too familiar with these trucks. I'm going to take a drive by later today and see for sure.

Welcome the FTE. I have the V-10 and love it. Plenty of power for towing and decent mileage. The diesel is higher cost to maintain and Ford has had alot of issues with the 6.0. Drive a V-10 and a diesel and make your own comparison. The same truck with a gas engine will be around 4-5 grand less money.

The 6.0 has had several problems with blown head gaskets, ford went in and reduced the amount of head bolts. The gas milage is better with a diesel, acceleration better witht he V-10. Pro's and Con's both ways. I still havent figured out why people are saying the maintenance is higher on a Diesel. If you are going for a diesel, look for a 7.3, or wait until the 6.3 are in the used market.
