Ok....
Truck runs great.....but after driving the CEL comes on.
I had codes shecked, only one "HEGO running lean".
No biggie, change sensor....same thing. (old one looked good btw).
I pulled the EGR, it looks fantastic, same with IAC...
Everything on the truck look like it has lower milage on it but I know miles are correct it just spent alot of time on the highway, 70k in 3 yrs.
I can't find any vac leaks, if you drive long enough the CEL will go out.
If the truck is already warm and yo turn it off, then drive it sometimes it will stay off for quite a while, sometimes it'll come right back on in just a few miles.
EVERYTHING is stock or a stock replacement, exhaust etc.
Could a bad Cat do this? Make the sensor think it's lean?
If it weren't for the annoying CEL you'd not think anything of it.
It is a Bosch O2 sensor.
I need to look again but I think the original had FORD and Bosch on it, could that be right?
Truck had been ran 20 mins, 5 at idle then 15 into town.
Not sure on the timing. Will that cause the light to come on?
What are the codes and how do I check and clear them?
Can you do this without some expensive tool or hand held computer? My truck is a 1994 F150 and seems to be having some of the same issues...Thanks in advance for any replies
