I was wondering if anyone has ever put a fuel cell in a 1949 F-3? I am putting in some bucket racing seats and I need as much room as I can get in the cab so has anyone ever put a cell in between the frame rails?
There are lots of options for between the frame rails fuel tanks. Check out my gallery for the install of the mid 80's GM full sized blazer tank, Check out RandyJack's gallery for an awesome intallation of a full sized Bronco tank, Jnoilon has a great article on the installation of the Mustang tank. There should be a tech article describing the pros and cons of the various donors. I think the Mitsubishi Montero is mentioned as well as full sized GM vans. I can't remember the others.
If you run a search on gas tanks, or fuel tanks you should come up with tons of reading material. Keep in mind that your fuel gauge needs to match the fuel sender in the tank. Different manufacturers read differently.
